Key Architecture Firm Tapped for Proposed Union Station Expansion

“A proposed $10 billion expansion and renovation of D.C.’s Union Station will be fronted by the same architectural firm that refurbished Grand Central Terminal in New York City, The Washington Post reports.

Beyer Blinder Belle, which has done work on Smithsonian museums and historic buildings in Washington — and is working with Donald Trump and Ivanka Trump on the Old Post Office turnaround into a luxury hotel — will team with Grimshaw Architects in what is described as a massive expansion of Union Station which, if all plays out, will increase rail and passenger capacity. The hopes are the project will qualify for federal funds.”
