Art and Creativity at Washington Union Station

This September, Washington Union Station will showcase the work of artists and creators from across the region through Art Fest: The Art of Style and the debut of “America: The Game.”

Taking place September 11 and 12 as part of the city-wide Art All Night initiative, The Art of Style will transform Union Station into a celebration of art, design, creativity and culture. The two-night activation will feature more than 100 artists, musicians and designers from across the D.M.V. region, showcasing new work and special curatorial efforts from renowned creators including Kelly Towles, E$, Brandon Hill, Lea Craigie, Trap Bob and more.

Beginning September 10 through October 10, Washington Union Station will present “America: The Game,” a new pop-up gallery bringing together more than 30 artists from the greater Washington, D.C., area, New York, Los Angeles and beyond. The exhibition explores the ways competition, play and rivalry have shaped American culture and identity, from legendary sports matchups and championship dynasties to politics, fashion and the language of the game.

“America: The Game” is organized and curated by Brandon Hill of ALL DAY PROJECTS and Jason Bowers of JAB Arts, in collaboration with Washington Union Station. The exhibition is developed with curatorial partners including Domo Wells, Founder and Designer of Dead Dirt; The Bishop Gallery; and artist and curator Daniel “Halopigg” Weintraub.

“This fall, we are excited to bring even more energy to the station,” said Doug Carr, CEO of USRC. “With the return of our Jazz Tribute Series, the debut of America: The Game and expanded programming at the Continental Club, we look forward to welcoming Washingtonians and visitors to experience all that Union Station has to offer this season.”

Continental Club Expands Programming

After the evening performances at The Stage or stopping by the galleries, guests are encouraged to join for a drink in the newly opened Continental Club. Following its opening on August 19, the cocktail parlor and lounge inside Washington Union Station is expanding its hours of operation and introducing a happy hour menu this fall. Starting on September 8, guests can enjoy a $14 martini, a $12 rotating daily specialty cocktail, $8 beers, and $10 house wines from 3 PM- 5PM. A late night happy hour is set to debut at the end of the month.

Created by SHKR Hospitality, the pop-up experience celebrates the elegance and romance of the golden age of rail travel, pairing thoughtfully crafted cocktails featuring iconic American distilleries with elevated bites inspired by regional flavors. The space combines vintage sophistication with contemporary hospitality, creating a new gathering place within the historic station.

Together, these experiences highlight the USRC’s ongoing efforts to activate the historic landmark with engaging programming while it advances plans to restore and modernize Washington Union Station.
