21st Annual Union Station Holiday Tree Lighting Ceremony

The holiday season is upon us once again. So, what better way to kick off the festivities than to attend the 21st Annual Holiday Tree Lighting Ceremony at Union Station?

When: Wednesday, November 29, 2017 from 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm
Where: Union Station Main Hall, 50 Massachusetts Avenue NE
Cost: Free

In continuation of a 21-year tradition, the Norwegian Embassy, on behalf of the citizens of Norway, will present a tree to the people of Washington, DC. This generous gift symbolizes gratitude for the assistance Norway received during WWII and appreciation for the strong friendship between the two countries.

This year’s theme highlights Norway’s positive impact on the United States economy. Have you ever wondered how many jobs Norway creates and supports in the U.S.? You can find out on November 29th at our event program featuring Norway’s Ambassador to the United States, His Excellency Kåre R. Aas, and other special guests.

After the tree lighting and remarks, there will be a Norwegian Christmas concert. Also, rumor has it, Santa Claus will make an appearance!

Come one, come all for this wondrous occasion.
